Zygmunt Bargielski, Flea Market, book 1

for piano, PWM 12028

The collection is “something lighter” in the oeuvre of a composer who does not usually create music for children. This time, he decided to have fun with the instrument, to create a distorting mirror, reflecting the overall artwork for the piano. Part 1 contains 12 songs of varying levels of difficulty. The songs are also very diverse in terms of style – there are songs, miniatures inspired by classical music, tango, blues and thoroughly contemporary pieces. Elements of non-metric play and repetition of patterns and segments are a characteristic of most of the elements.
