Juliusz Łuciuk, Children's Improvisations
for piano, PWM 5738
The collection contains 8 miniatures using contemporary notation. The composer makes use of various playing modes, clusters, repeated cells or the entire range of the piano, leaving the player a lot of freedom and room for invention – as the title of the collection suggests. The pieces can be a significant didactic aid, introducing novice pianists to the not always easy world of contemporary music. The proposals will appeal to young, talented pianists with creative imaginations as well as educators seeking new and unusual repertoire for their students.
